The EX-MAX-11 Maine Coon cat tree is a tall multi-level structure from the MAX range, developed specifically for large and heavy cats. It combines four substantial scratching posts with five resting places: two paddle-style side beds, two levels of a double pouch hammock and a large round dish bed. All principal resting elements have a diameter of 60 cm, providing considerably more room than the small platforms and hammocks fitted to many conventional cat trees.
EX-MAX-11 has been designed primarily for Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest Cats and other large, powerfully built cats, including animals weighing more than 8 kg. Its 18 cm diameter posts, enlarged beds and height of 205 cm create an extensive environment for rest, observation, scratching and movement between levels.
The defining feature of this model is the combination of three large beds with padded rings and two soft hammock levels. The cat can therefore choose between a stable open surface and a flexible resting area that partially adapts to the shape of its body.
The complete structure stands on a square 70 × 70 cm base. Its substantial footprint helps maintain the stability of the tall cat tree while the cat climbs, descends, scratches the posts or jumps onto the upper beds.
Stability is especially important for a Maine Coon. The dynamic load generated by a large cat jumping can be considerably greater than its body weight while resting. The combination of a broad base, four posts and solid structural connections makes the model suitable for intensive everyday use.
Because the side beds extend beyond the central column, the actual space required around the cat tree is greater than the dimensions of the base alone. Sufficient clearance should be left so that a large cat can jump, turn around and climb down without hitting nearby walls, windowsills or furniture.
The overall height of EX-MAX-11 is 205 cm. The model uses space primarily in the vertical direction, giving the cat several levels for activity and rest. It is suitable for owners who want to provide elevated resting areas without installing an extremely wide structure.
The upper bed can function as an observation point. The cat can rest well above floor level and monitor what is happening in the room. For many cats, an elevated position provides greater calm, a better view and an increased sense of security.
Five resting places distributed throughout the structure allow the cat to change position during the day. It can use one of the side beds, settle in either hammock level or choose the upper round bed with its padded ring.
EX-MAX-11 is supported by four posts with a diameter of 18 cm. They are considerably thicker than the posts found on many standard cat trees. Their increased diameter provides an extensive scratching surface and substantial support for the tall multi-level structure.
The model uses one 70 cm post and three 35 cm posts. These sections separate the successive levels and provide several sisal-covered surfaces that the cat can use from different parts of the tree.
The cat can scratch while standing on the base, grip the posts when moving between the beds and use them to pull its body upwards. Several sisal sections increase the available scratching surface and distribute wear across different parts of the structure.
The longest post is 70 cm long. It gives a large cat a noticeably greater vertical scratching surface than the shorter elements separating the individual levels. A Maine Coon can place its front paws high, grip the sisal firmly and extend a substantial part of its body.
EX-MAX-11 is primarily a tall multi-level structure with numerous beds rather than a model built around one exceptionally long 120–130 cm scratching column. Its main advantage is the combination of scratching surfaces with five resting zones positioned at different heights.
Regular scratching helps remove the outer layers of the claws, stretch the muscles and satisfy natural marking behaviour. An 18 cm diameter post gives a large cat a broad surface into which it can securely grip its claws.
EX-MAX-11 includes two paddle-style beds with a diameter of 60 cm. Each bed is fitted with a soft padded ring that defines the resting area and supports the cat’s head, back or paws.
A diameter of 60 cm is important for an adult Maine Coon. Small side platforms may be adequate for sitting or a brief pause, but they do not provide a large cat with enough room for prolonged rest. On EX-MAX-11, both side elements function as full-sized beds.
The open shape gives the cat a clear view of the room. It can position its body within the padded ring, support its head against the soft edge or allow part of its paws and tail to extend beyond the central surface.
Two separate side beds increase the number of available places and make the cat tree more suitable for a multi-cat home. They can also serve as convenient intermediate points while the cat moves between the lower and upper parts of the structure.
The central resting element is an XL double pouch hammock with a diameter of 60 cm. It creates two soft beds positioned one above the other, increasing the number of resting areas without extending the structure excessively to the sides.
Each hammock level supports the body differently from a rigid side bed or round dish. The fabric settles beneath the cat and adapts to its shape. The animal can sink slightly into the hammock, curl its body and support its head or paws against the edge.
The pouch form partially surrounds the torso, creating a more sheltered place than a completely open bed. It is not an enclosed house, however, so the cat retains visual contact with the room and can enter or leave freely.
The 60 cm diameter has been selected for large cats and EX-MAX structures with 18 cm posts. The increased area helps a Maine Coon distribute its weight comfortably and change position without squeezing into a small hammock.
Two levels allow the cat to choose a higher or lower place. In a multi-cat household, two compatible cats may also use separate hammock levels, although simultaneous use always depends on their size, temperament and relationship.
The hammock cover can be removed for washing. This makes it easier to remove hair and refresh the surface that remains in direct contact with the cat’s body during everyday use.
The highest resting area is a round dish bed with a diameter of 60 cm. Like the paddle-style beds, it is equipped with a soft padded ring forming a raised edge.
The large circular surface can be used for prolonged sleep as well as for observing the room from above. The cat can curl up, rest in a semi-reclined position or support its head and paws against the soft surround.
A diameter of 60 cm gives an adult Maine Coon considerably more room than the small upper platform found on a conventional cat tree. This element is not merely a step but a full-sized resting zone.
Its elevated position is particularly suitable for cats that naturally choose the highest available point. The round bed may become a favourite place for observing household activity, resting and sleeping.
EX-MAX-11 offers a total of five principal resting places: two paddle-style beds, two levels of the pouch hammock and the upper round bed. This is a particularly large number of resting zones for a structure standing on a 70 × 70 cm base.
The side beds and round dish provide stable open surfaces with padded rings, while the hammocks adapt to the cat’s body and partially surround it. The cat can therefore choose between different types of support and different heights.
This choice is useful throughout the day. The cat can change place according to room temperature, sunlight, its need for quiet sleep, its desire to observe the surroundings or the presence of other animals.
EX-MAX-11 has an open layout and does not contain an enclosed house. All resting places remain visible and easily accessible. The model suits cats that enjoy monitoring their surroundings and are reluctant to rest in fully enclosed dens.
The absence of a house does not mean there are no surrounding resting areas. The two pouch hammock levels partially enclose the body, while the padded rings on the side beds and round dish form soft raised edges. The cat can select different degrees of enclosure without entering a closed space.
The open design also makes it easier to reach the individual elements when vacuuming, removing covers and checking the condition of the beds and posts.
EX-MAX-11 combines a scratching tree, tall activity zone and extensive resting area. The cat can use the posts, move between the levels, pause on the side beds and choose one of the hammocks or the upper round bed.
The structure can be used throughout the day—for stretching after waking, claw care, climbing, observing household members and prolonged rest.
Developed vertical space is particularly important for an indoor cat. It allows the animal to satisfy its natural preference for elevated places without climbing onto wardrobes, shelving or other household furniture.
Five resting places mean that EX-MAX-11 can be used by one large cat or by several animals. Individual cats can occupy the side beds, upper round bed and separate hammock levels without sharing one sleeping surface.
A large number of places does not guarantee that every cat will rest on the structure simultaneously. Shared use depends on their relationships, temperament and preferred distance from one another.
The extensive arrangement nevertheless provides more options than a small cat tree with one hammock or shelf. The model may be practical in a home with several large cats or in a cattery where beds and scratching surfaces are used more intensively.
The cover of the double pouch hammock can be removed for washing. A separate replacement cover set is also available for EX-MAX-11, allowing the textile resting elements to be renewed after extended use.
Replaceable covers are especially useful when the cat tree is used every day by a large cat or several animals. Textile components may wear sooner than the posts and wooden structural parts.
A second set can be used alternately, help keep the resting areas clean or provide a later change of colour. The complete cat tree does not have to be replaced merely because its resting surfaces require renewal.
EX-MAX-11 is intended for long-term use. Worn covers, beds, posts and other components can be replaced later with suitable spare parts.
This is important with large cats, which place greater loads on the beds and use sisal surfaces more intensively. Replacing individual components helps keep the cat tree in service without purchasing a completely new structure.
Available fabric, wood and rope colours can be selected during configuration. Options concerning the base, hook-and-loop lining and engraving are also available.
A 205 cm cat tree is a visible element of the interior. Coordinating the wood, fabric and rope allows the model to suit a living room, bedroom, dedicated cat room or cattery.
Before ordering, it is worth comparing the available variants and choosing a configuration that matches both the practical needs of the cat and the colour scheme of the room.
The model has been developed primarily for Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest Cats and other large and heavy cats, including animals weighing more than 8 kg. Selection should also take into account body length, age, activity level, mobility and preferred resting habits.
EX-MAX-11 is particularly suitable for a cat that enjoys large open beds, soft hammocks and elevated observation points. Two side beds, two hammock levels and the upper round dish allow the cat to change location frequently without leaving the structure.
Because the cat tree is 205 cm high, the cat’s mobility and method of moving between levels should be considered. A young and active Maine Coon may use the complete structure freely, while an older animal or one with limited mobility may require easier access.
EX-MAX-11 is a tall and extensive Maine Coon cat tree combining four thick posts, a two-level pouch hammock and three large beds with soft padded rings. Five resting places give a large cat room to scratch, climb, observe its surroundings and rest at different heights.
