XXL Cat Tree for Maine Coons EX-MAX-2A

The EX-MAX-2A XXL cat tree for Maine Coons is a substantial multi-level structure designed specifically for the largest cats. It features three extra-thick Ø18 cm posts, an enlarged double hammock and two large round platform beds. All principal components have been sized for large and heavy Maine Coons, including exceptionally substantial adult cats in the 12–14 kg range.

EX-MAX-2A may appear relatively simple in photographs, but in reality it is a large and heavy cat tree. The base measures 70 × 70 cm, while each of the two round resting platforms has a diameter of 60 cm. These dimensions are considerably larger than those used in standard cat trees for average-sized cats.

The construction is supported by three posts, each measuring 18 cm in diameter. Two posts are 40 cm long and the main post measures 60 cm. Their large diameter provides a wide scratching surface while also increasing the rigidity of the individual sections of the structure.

The Ø18 cm posts allow a large Maine Coon to place its front paws firmly against the sisal, grip the surface and use the posts while scratching, pulling itself upwards and moving between levels. These are not narrow posts used in lightweight cat furniture, but substantial structural components characteristic of the specialist EX-MAX range.

One of the key features is the large double hammock. Its supporting frame measures 65 × 70 cm and is made from reinforced 21 mm plywood. The thicker material increases rigidity and is better suited to the dynamic forces generated when a heavy cat jumps onto the hammock.

The actual resting surface measures approximately 45 × 65 cm. The double design provides two different resting positions: an upper surface and a lower suspended section. The cat can therefore choose between a more open resting area and a soft recessed space that adapts to its body.

The usable dimensions of the hammock are particularly important for a Maine Coon. A long and heavy cat needs not only a strong supporting frame but also sufficient room for its body, legs and tail. The EX-MAX-2A hammock provides considerably more space than typical components used on ordinary cat trees for large cats.

The model also includes two open round platform beds, each measuring 60 cm in diameter. They are positioned at different levels and provide spacious places for resting, sitting and observing the surroundings. Their open form makes it easier for a large cat to enter, turn around and choose a comfortable position.

The two platform beds and double hammock create several independent resting zones. This makes EX-MAX-2A suitable for one exceptionally large Maine Coon as well as for a multi-cat household, where different parts of the structure may be used at the same time.

The total height is approximately 160 cm. The arrangement of the individual levels allows the cat to move between the hammock and platform beds, while the highest bed serves as an elevated observation point.

The 70 × 70 cm base provides broad support for the three posts and oversized resting elements. When planning the installation area, it is worth considering not only the dimensions of the base but also the space occupied by the hammock and beds.

During configuration, the fabric type and colour, wood colour, sisal rope colour, base finish and additional options can be selected. This makes it possible to adapt the cat tree to the needs of the cat and the style of the interior.
