Cat tree for Maine Coon cats EX-MAX-2

The EX-MAX-2 cat tree for large Maine Coons is compact in overall height but exceptionally substantial in construction. It belongs to the specialist EX-MAX range developed for large and heavy cats, including particularly impressive adult Maine Coons weighing around 12–14 kg. The model combines two extra-thick Ø18 cm posts, an enlarged double hammock and a large rosette-style bed.

The 60 × 60 cm base provides stable support for the entire structure. Despite occupying a relatively compact area of floor space, EX-MAX-2 is not a lightweight cat tree designed for an average-sized cat. Its principal components have been enlarged and reinforced for the size and strength of the largest Maine Coons.

The model features two substantial scratching posts, both with a diameter of 18 cm. The main post is 80 cm long and provides a generous surface for intensive scratching, pulling upwards and stretching. The second post also measures 18 cm in diameter and is 30 cm long. It is a full-size structural component supporting the upper resting bed.

The large diameter of both posts provides considerably more usable scratching area than the narrow columns commonly found in standard cat furniture. A Maine Coon can place its front paws firmly against the surface, grip the sisal rope and use the structure confidently during energetic scratching and climbing.

The main feature of EX-MAX-2 is its enlarged double hammock. Its supporting frame measures 70 × 70 cm and is made from reinforced 21 mm plywood. The thicker material increases the rigidity of the element and helps it withstand the dynamic forces generated when a large cat jumps onto it.

The soft resting area measures approximately 45 × 65 cm. The double construction provides two usable levels: an upper resting surface and a lower suspended section that gently supports the cat’s body. It therefore offers more choice and usable space than a standard single hammock.

The hammock dimensions have been selected specifically for the largest cats. With a Maine Coon, the external dimensions of the frame are less important than the actual space available for a long and heavy body. The EX-MAX-2 hammock provides substantially more room than typical beds used on ordinary cat trees for large cats.

At the highest level is a large rosette-style bed with an internal diameter of 50 cm. Its supporting base measures 56 cm in diameter. The internal measurement describes the actual space available to the cat, allowing a large Maine Coon to enter, turn around and adopt a comfortable resting position.

The raised sides of the rosette provide a more supportive and enclosed resting position than a completely flat platform, while the bed remains open and easy to access. Its elevated location also creates a comfortable observation point.

The double hammock and rosette provide several different resting positions at separate heights. This arrangement works well for one large Maine Coon and can also be useful in a multi-cat household, where different parts of the structure may be used at the same time.

The total height of EX-MAX-2 is approximately 132 cm. It is more compact than the tallest EX-MAX models while retaining the defining features of the range: Ø18 cm posts, an enlarged base, reinforced components and resting areas designed for genuinely large cats.

Colours and finishes can be selected during product configuration, allowing the cat tree to be adapted both to the needs of the cat and to the interior of the room.
