Large Cat Exercise Wheel with Base

The Large Cat Exercise Wheel with Base is an indoor toy designed to provide cats with an opportunity for movement and active play. This model is intended for cats weighing no more than 8 kg. The wheel has an external diameter of 135 cm and runs on polyurethane rollers fitted with ball bearings. An adjustable brake and rotation lock allow the owner or carer to control how the wheel is used.

A larger wheel for active cats

The large exercise wheel allows a cat to walk or run at its own pace and can add variety to everyday activity. The larger wheel diameter provides more space while moving, making this model suitable for larger or longer-bodied cats for which a smaller wheel may not provide the correct posture.

This model is intended for cats with a maximum weight of 8 kg. This is the maximum load specified for the product and must not be exceeded. When choosing the correct wheel size, the length of the cat’s body and its position inside the wheel should also be considered. The cat’s back should not be excessively curved while moving.

Important: the wheel is a toy intended to provide movement and entertainment. It is not training, rehabilitation or medical equipment. If the cat has orthopaedic or cardiac conditions, or if there are any other health-related concerns, a veterinarian should be consulted before the wheel is used.

Wheel construction and speed control

The wheel and base are made of birch plywood. The running surface is covered with carpet. The wheel runs on polyurethane rollers fitted with ball bearings.

The mechanism consists of:

• 8 load-bearing rollers,
• 4 stabilising wheels,
• 2 brake wheels.

The wheel is fitted with an adjustable brake that increases resistance and limits the rotational speed. The brake should be adjusted so that the wheel cannot accelerate excessively while the cat is running.

The product also has a rotation lock. Whenever the owner or carer is away, the wheel must remain locked.

Assembly and preparation for first use

The product is supplied in two parts:

• the exercise wheel,
• the base.

Preparation consists of correctly placing the wheel in the base. Before first use:

1. place the wheel on a level and stable surface,
2. make sure that the wheel is correctly seated in the base,
3. check that the wheel rotates freely,
4. check the operation of the brake and rotation lock,
5. adjust the brake resistance so that the wheel cannot rotate too quickly,
6. leave sufficient free space for the cat to enter and leave the wheel safely.

Do not use the product if any part is loose, damaged or incorrectly positioned.

How to introduce your cat to the wheel

Not every cat will immediately understand how the rotating wheel works. Introduce the product calmly and allow the cat to explore it at its own pace.

1. Initially, lock the wheel and allow the cat to inspect and sniff it.
2. Encourage the cat to step onto the running surface with a favourite toy, treat or calm praise.
3. The first wheel movements should be slow, with the brake adjusted to provide noticeable resistance.
4. Initial attempts should be short and always directly supervised.
5. If the cat appears frightened, loses its balance or tries to leave the wheel suddenly, stop the activity.

Never place the cat inside the wheel by force or make it run. The cat should use the wheel voluntarily and at its own pace.

Important safety rules

The wheel has an open construction, so the cat must be supervised whenever the product is in use. Running too quickly or intensely may cause the cat to lose its balance and fall out of the wheel.

• Only one cat may use the wheel at a time.
• The product may only be used under the supervision of an owner or carer.
• The wheel must be locked whenever the owner or carer is away.
• The wheel is not recommended for very small kittens.
• Do not place the product near stairs or anywhere it could fall.
• Do not allow children to play with the wheel.
• The product is intended exclusively for use in dry indoor areas.
• Do not use the wheel outdoors or in areas with high humidity.
• Do not make any structural modifications to the product.
• Exceeding the maximum weight of 8 kg may damage the product and endanger the cat.

Inspection and maintenance

The technical condition of the wheel should be checked regularly. Pay particular attention to:

• the condition of the rollers and bearings,
• the tightness of the screws,
• the operation of the brake and rotation lock,
• the correct positioning of the wheel,
• the condition of the carpeted running surface.

If the product is used frequently, the moving components should be checked more often. Clean the wheel with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive detergents.

If any damage, excessive looseness or abnormal operation is noticed, discontinue use until the product has been inspected and repaired. Store the wheel in a dry indoor area.

The product is covered by a 24-month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for a warranty claim.
