The EX-MAX-4 cat tree for Maine Coons is a large freestanding model from the MAX range, designed for large and heavy cats. The cat can relax in the large hammock, retreat into the house or choose the highest rosette bed and observe its surroundings from above. EX-MAX-4 stands on a rectangular 60 × 80 cm base. A generous support area is particularly important in a structure designed for large cats, which create considerably greater dynamic loads when jumping between levels than when simply resting.

The cat tree should be positioned on a level, firm and stable floor. Sufficient free space should be left around the structure so that a large cat can comfortably jump into the hammock, enter the house and move between the different levels.

182 cm high with several activity levels

The total height of the cat tree is 182 cm. The structure makes effective use of vertical space, allowing the cat to climb, move between different levels and rest high above the floor.

The highest rosette functions both as a comfortable bed and an observation point. Below it is the spacious enclosed house, while the additional hammock provides another open resting area.

Three substantial 18 cm scratching posts

The model uses two 40 cm posts and one 120 cm post. This provides scratching surfaces at different levels, which can be used both while moving through the structure and for normal upright scratching.

120 cm post for full-body stretching

The longest scratching post measures 120 cm. This is particularly valuable in a cat tree designed for Maine Coons. A large cat can place its front paws high on the post and fully extend its body while scratching instead of being forced into a crouched position.

Scratching is not only part of claw maintenance. It also allows a cat to stretch the muscles of the back, shoulders and limbs. A long vertical scratching surface therefore suits the natural behaviour of large, long-bodied cats particularly well.

Large 62 × 72 cm single hammock

The first resting area is a large single hammock with an overall frame size of 62 × 72 cm. The actual lying area measures approximately 55 × 62 cm.

The flexible hammock surface adapts to the shape of the cat's body. The cat can lie comfortably on its side, curl up to sleep or rest its head and paws on the edge while retaining a clear view of the room.

Spacious house for a large cat

The central feature of EX-MAX-4 is a large enclosed house with an internal diameter of 50 cm and a height of 40 cm. The top measures 56 cm in diameter. These dimensions provide sufficient interior space even for large cat breeds.

An enclosed resting place allows the cat to withdraw from its surroundings and sleep in greater privacy. It provides a very different environment from the open hammock and rosette bed, allowing the cat to select the type of resting place that suits its current mood.

Rosette bed with a 50 cm internal diameter

The highest resting area is a spacious rosette bed with an internal diameter of 50 cm and a 56 cm top diameter. Its raised edge surrounds the cat and provides comfortable support for the back, head or paws.

The internal diameter is particularly important because it represents the actual space available for resting. The 50 cm interior has been selected with large cats in mind, while the elevated position makes the rosette an excellent observation point.

Three different resting zones

One of the main advantages of EX-MAX-4 is the variety of its resting areas. The hammock provides a soft open surface, the house creates a private enclosed space, and the rosette offers an elevated bed with a raised edge.

The cat can therefore change resting place according to the time of day, temperature, need for privacy or desire to observe the room. Three full-size resting areas can also be useful in a multi-cat household.
